Artist's Comments

i am tired of this crap. wearing a ribbon is useless. it a cheap way for people to feel good about themselves for "supporting" whatever. a piece of fabric, or a fucking pin says nothing about a persons awareness. they've become to a lot of people, "smart" fashion accessories. don't fall for this crap, and don't weigh something so stupid when it comes to which candidate you support.

the worst part is, i think a lot of peeps think that wearing a ribbon is enough.

i'm really appreciating this and the plastic illustrations. I like when you get behind your work and really just say what bugs you, makes for fantastic work!
i think the only thing worse than these ribbons are the magnet car ribbons. uggggh

I agree. Although someone is bound to hate me for saying this, it really all has to do with political correctness. For whatever reason, AIDS and breast cancer are just the "in" things to be "aware" of, even though diabetes kills more than those two afflictions combined. Now, why aren't there massive campaigns for "diabetes awareness"? Why do its victims get the shit end of the stick when it comes to disease "awareness"?

AIDS and breast cancer kill lots of people. I understand that. But this shit's getting ridiculous.
:iconmisaryeepo:
people think diabetes is some disease that doesn't effect your life much. "oh you have to stick your finger with a needle, poor you!"
they don't see the people dying... to *them,* diabetes is a fat people disease. and you know how we hate the fat people!

Wow, I never really thought about it like that. But you're right.

I do like the drawing as well. All the diverse people who support a different disease and what not, by wearing a ribbon. Nice as always.
