this is a dipiction of philadelphians in there pure form...i keep noticing philly is getting more and more colorful...so the background is as such, the one os holding out his hand to satch the angry thing in the sky
love the piece! very nice. i love the fact that you use india ink. alot of people i know are all into computer graphics, but i tend to favor more traditional media. anyhoo, i love your work. i think i will watch you.
That's awesome. I'm not feeling the whole phili thing the way I see the city, but I can totally see where you're coming from. Brilliant work, what are you using, ink with brush? water color? water color paper? I'm really interested, please let me know. They way you compose your images just keeps my eye going in and out of it all the time, I always see something new or different everytime I look, or maybe the way you do it just makes me feel as if I'm seeing something new everytime. Great work
That's really cool, I've never worked with colored ink, how does that work? Do you layer the colors, can you draw in with the black and put color over it and the black shines through? Or do you put the black over the color? I've been experimenting a lot with ink lately, so I'm curious. Are you using pens, or from a bottle with a brush, or using both?
i use a nib witha bottle for the line work mostly..then i wait for it to dry and put masking tape all over the canvas..then i cut out where i want to leave white from the paper and pull all the tape up where i want the colored ink for the background to go. then i use a sponge and wash the ink on with water and then peel the tape off where i wanted it white..makes good contrasts...i then add the blacks i want usually i will paint in the large sections with india and a bruch..then i add white inks and then i pen things to make them better ...and obviously before anything i sketch on watercolor paper with pencil or just splash ink and see what i can do with it
your work is so brilliant and colorful. i just started an illustration class and a 2d design class (that i should have taken ages ago) but im excited to be back to paper, pen, and color. anyways just wanted to say that your stuff is definitely inspiring. hope youre doing well.
